Gentle dental care for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special needs, made to feel easy, personal, and comforting for families.
At Braintree Kids Dental, we help children build healthy smiles through comprehensive oral care with a comfort-centered approach.
Braintree Kids Dental was created for families who want kind, dependable pediatric dental care close to home.
Our office keeps the experience warm, clear, and child-friendly. We take time to get to know each child, explain care in a way parents can understand, and help visits feel as calm as possible.
Some children walk in excited. Some need more time. Some feel nervous or need extra support. We meet each child with patience and respect, so dental care can feel more familiar over time.
We focus on the core dental care children need to keep their teeth healthy and their visits positive.
Healthy habits start early. We provide personalized guidance on brushing and flossing, nutrition and cavity prevention, age-appropriate dental development, and healthy oral habits. We also monitor your child’s growth and development, evaluate orthodontic needs, and assess their risk for cavities to help keep their smile healthy as they grow.
Building healthy smiles starts with prevention. We provide comprehensive dental exams, X-rays, professional cleanings, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants to help protect your child’s teeth, prevent cavities, and support a lifetime of good oral health.
Every child’s needs are unique. We offer a range of treatment options, from minimally invasive approaches such as Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF), SMART fillings, and Hall crowns to traditional tooth-colored fillings and other restorative treatments. Our goal is to preserve and protect your child’s teeth while keeping treatment as comfortable and conservative as possible.
When accidents happen, we’re here to help. We provide gentle emergency care for dental injuries, swelling, and tooth pain to keep your child comfortable and restore their healthy smile.
Every child has their own comfort level at the dentist. Our team takes a patient, friendly approach so children can feel heard, supported, and cared for during their visit.
We welcome children who may need extra time, a quieter pace, or added reassurance. That includes children who feel anxious at the dentist, children with sensory needs, and children with special healthcare needs.
We take time with children and avoid rushing through the visit.
We explain what we are doing in kid-friendly language and keep parents informed.
We help children get comfortable with the dental office at their own pace.
We listen, answer questions, and talk through care recommendations clearly.
Our practice is designed to feel approachable, friendly, and familiar for Braintree families.
Dr. Rushil Patel is a board-certified dentist and member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
He was born in Tampa, Florida, and attended Florida State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science. He then moved to Massachusetts to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston.
Dr. Patel’s passion for pediatric dentistry grew through mission trips, mentoring, and his time working as a camp counselor. Those experiences shaped the way he cares for children today: with patience, kindness, and a focus on helping each child feel comfortable in the dental chair.
Outside the office, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his wife, exercising, and cooking good food.

Answers to the questions Braintree families ask us most.
We recommend scheduling your child’s first dental visit by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth appearing. Early visits help establish healthy habits, monitor growth and development, and prevent dental problems before they start.
First visits are relaxed and built around your child’s comfort. Depending on their age, Dr. Patel checks the teeth, gums, and bite, looks at how everything is growing, and talks through brushing, flossing, and nutrition with you. There’s plenty of room for your questions — and your child leaves with a prize at the end.
We care for infants, children, and teens, including patients with special healthcare needs — from the very first tooth through the teenage years.
That’s completely okay, and it’s never too late to start. We move at your child’s pace, keep things low-pressure, and focus on making the first visit a positive one so future appointments feel easy.
Baby teeth do a lot of work: they help your child chew and eat well, support clear speech, guide healthy jaw growth, and hold space for the adult teeth coming in behind them. Healthy baby teeth also help kids feel confident.
Most children do best with a checkup and cleaning every six months. Regular visits help us stay ahead of cavities, keep an eye on development, and keep your child comfortable with the dentist over time. Dr. Patel may suggest a different schedule if your child has specific needs.
Pediatric dentists complete several years of additional training focused specifically on infants, children, teens, and patients with special healthcare needs. Dr. Patel is board-certified and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, so your child gets care shaped around how kids actually grow, feel, and experience a dental visit.
A little prep goes a long way: talk about the visit positively and matter-of-factly, avoid scary words, maybe read a fun book about going to the dentist, and schedule when your child is well-rested. The more relaxed you are, the more relaxed they’ll feel.
Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, floss once a day, go easy on sugary snacks and drinks, reach for water often, and keep up with regular visits. We’ll also tailor prevention — like fluoride treatments and sealants — to your child at each appointment.
Yes. Used in the right amounts, fluoride is a safe, well-established way to strengthen enamel and help prevent cavities. We always match the approach to your child’s age and needs, and we’re happy to answer any questions you have.
